My life in UMS.........old story!!

lab, midterm and char kueh teow ( a good day for me)

Saturday, 12th August 2006

Today I got up at 8.40am, quite late because my father wanted me to go jogging with him and that he was working for today. I was slotted to go to meet my good old friends and did not meet for 4 years after SPM, Gloria W. She was so nice to pay for my Coffee Bean drink around RM11, Cinnamon Drink Ice Blended......Thank you Gloria.......To be frank, I only patronise places like Easyway or buy Cap Kuda coffee drinks because they are reasonable, Rm 4 for an ice blended drink? We looked at 2 photo albums since I was in Matrics Labuan (2003-2004), but did not see the last Matrics album and my China trip albums because she received a phone call from her mother. After that, we went to Karamunsing to buy 10 CD covers for her mother to store MP3s in CDs that she has right now. Each one costs RM0.80. Then I 'tapau' rice with 2 vegetables =Rm2.50 because the other food didn't look nice to eat ;( We arrived home at 2pm, tired but happy because what a very long time we did not see each other.....she's studying in the USA for business....and may not come back to Malaysia for a long time again....5 years i think?? Well, I pray that I would have a stable finance with a good company, understanding boss, good staff support and reasonable working hours. :) I went to church with my parents at 6pm and at 7.15pm we went to Tanjung Aru Beach Resort for dinner with my aunty. The variety of food was much lesser compared to last time, but somehow, I felt contented, YUMMY! I think that's all I have to say for today, thank you Puan Salmah for reading this blog and I hope that you enjoy and maybe learn one or two things about life. And to all my friends, I will try to update this blog as frequent as possible........Busy bah?Take care, God bless you!

Friday,11th August 2006

I was in lab for today, doing my exercises for Internet Technology, Minor subject at Engineering School......Kinda complex, but got to save the demostrator's notes so that it can help in case i have an exam doing Macromedia, arrgh!!!! I had Bee hoon and yummy fish with 'belacan' for breakfast, since the morning itself was so dead cold....Brrr!! Anyway, during lunch time, it was raining quite heavily at first, so I made Nature's Own Rice Drink, with Nestle's Omega Milk Powder with Australian honey. Yummy....so filling and made me sleepy after 20 minutes.......I slept for a while before I have my mid term exam for another elective subject, ' Noise and Vibration'......quite easy, but i felt like a dumbo cos I can't draw properly the graphs for undamped, underdamped, critically damped and overdamped vibrations.......;(( after the mid term, we had class for 2nd degree of DOF( Degree of Freedom). I supposed to go and eat char kuey teow from the Pasar Malam UMS, but I decided to stay faithful to my parents and went back to join them to have spaghetti with olive oil for dinner.....Then went to church for a fellowship until around 11pm, when my neighbourhood experienced powercut for 3 hours, MY GOODNESS!!!! they must have felt so dead hot and no TV to watch.....well gotta go,bye, you take care ya?

Selamat malam!

Wow, I got up early, went jogging with my dad, bathed, had oatmeal for breakfast, then slept again for another 2 hours after resting for a while; because I slept around 2am, reading materials that I wished to, especially past newspapers for the week. As my body lacked of sleep, it punished me by making me slept a lot as a compensation for last night, man oh man! But anyway, I did read newspapers including The Sunday Mail, Daily Express, and The Star. One topic which attracted me in the provoking and ‘full of rubbish’- so my dad said about one of the newspapers, you go and figure out….it was dated yesterday with today, 6-7 August, meaning to say, it was yesterday’s papers, but could also be considered as today’s newspapers. It was talking about the heavily one sided contracts that major record companies like EMI, BMG, and Warner Music which robbed A LOT of the incomes of our beloved Malaysian artistes, no matter what languages they sing in. I was very sad and concerned about it, as Ning Baizura, Dayang Nurfaizah and Amy Search got involved in legal battles against their former companies. That is why Ning created her own record company and pulled in Nikki of Malaysian Idol 1; Dayang is competing for RM 1,000,000 in the reality show ‘One in a Million’ on 8TV and TV3 to expand her wings to USA or Europe, perhaps to become famous internationally there, just like the husky-voiced Anggun (Indonesia) and Lea Salonga (Phillipines). I went back to my campus, in UMS around 9.45pm just now and was going to prepare to go to class at 8am tomorrow, which is my elective subject, Crystallography and my major, Digital Electronics and Communications. Catch you all again later, ya? Good night, peace!

Saturday, 5th August 2006

I got up today around 7am, which was quite late for me, argh!!! You know why? Because the event, called the ‘Take Charge!’ and ‘Get that Job!” supposed to start around 8am, but I didn’t know what was wrong that I was quite sluggish, and slow to do things, I even chatted with my room mates for a moment. After having my breakfast and changed, I went not to the venue, which was the ever-majestic Dewan Canselor, I went to the bank to withdraw cash to sustain the payment of 54 sets of notes for my major on behalf of my friends, but SNAP, the two ATMs were not working, man oh man! So I went to my Science and Technology School and told the ever-nice photocopy worker the truth and I only managed to pay RM10 as a deposit for the overall cost around RM28. I got to collect them around 12pm. My course mate was so afraid to go in, called Iz, that he kept on SMSing me since last night so that we can get in together, but I SMSed back that the committees in charge were asking the ‘snails’- the students to get their butts moving quickly because the time was really close to 9am!

My Deputy Chancellor and Deans of various schools, including the Engineering School arrived around 9.20-9.30am, followed by the Deputy Chancellor (Students’ Affairs) giving out his speech. One of the most renowned motivators in Malaysia, Mr. Mohd Rizal Hassan from the Take Charge Sendirian Berhad was in my words; energetic, witty, mind-provoking and had given tips that should be the molding agents in our attitudes and speeches, especially to help us to get the job we want in future. I would not forget what he said and I really pray that I can change steadily day after day with his concept which I will decide whether to post it or not in this blog. His presentation was by using his laptop, some props like a stork (bangau) figurine, rubber balls, and the annoying (but it helped) honking device to grab our attention if we made noise. We stopped around 12pm and resumed around 2pm. Overall, it was mind-opening and I really hope to join at least at any venues in UMS, how to groom myself as I had to leave earlier for that part at 5pm to go to evening Mass at Stella Maris Church, Tanjung Aru with my parents and grandmother. I had dinner also for a surprise birthday for my uncle and cousin named Cynthia, which was sumptuous and also plenty: fried prawns with Nestum, sweet and sour fish, fried mee and rice with seafood, fried chicken (small pieces), mixed vegetables with seafood and also for dessert, honey dew, sago with Ideal milk. So that’s about it for now, over to you, ladies and gentlemen, the curtains are now down. <_>

A very very late blogging

Hello people and especially to my beloved lecturer, Puan Salmah Fattah who is reading this right now, I have joined in the community since last June....I was pretty packed that month, with my trip to Sarawak and Brunei, I have some photos to upload but some of them are with my coursemates now.....so i hope you can bear with me to see who are my coursemates.....sekali kawan2 korang juga,hehehe.....anyway, I want to start off with Last Friday,4th of August, I went to Morning Mass at sacred heart cathedral,Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, with 2 of my girlfriends.
I slept at 2.30am and got up around 5am that day.Really full as there are a lot of people went for the daily mass, since it was on a first Friday. We returned back at 7.40am, using the longer route to go back to UMS. I did not rest at all, until I felt like a drunkard that day, with my head spinning, and cannot concentrate properly to what my friends are talking about in UMS.....then i was down with fever, I had to skip class on that evening also, and slept for around 3 hours, i guess!!
I still wanted to go for Lifeline Lifenite at Sacred Heart Cathedral that night, but the problem was, I have a seminar about taking charge of my life and also about getting the job that I aim at advertisements when I graduate later around next year. So, I did not go, but stayed at UMS, and went to the one month Pasar Malam, buying 'Leong Cha', 'Char Kueh Teow" and pancake, yummy! Semua bernilai RM 6.....So my friends, if you have time, especially ums students, do go for the Pasar Malam, every Friday until 25th of August, ya??? OK.....to be continued for Saturday.....and Sunday also,hehehe......

Thank God you;re alive! the brick story

THE BRICK
A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver
then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against
a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?" The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother, "he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."
Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: "Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.
Thought for the Day:

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

Send this to every "beautiful person" you wish to bless.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in........
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.please repost this,so that u can make ur friends be grateful and thoughtful of God every day, take care!

Wash your cans....anything,for food especially b4 consuming

A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday. The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis. Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned. A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e.) full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them tothe mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

GIRLFRENS FOREVER!!!!

A young wife sat on a porch in Waycross, Georgia, on a summer day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligation of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter. "Don't forget your girlfriends," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass." "They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you'll have, are still going to need girl friends. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. And remember that 'girl friends' are not only your friends, but your sisters, your daughters, and other relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always do." "What a funny piece of advice," the young woman thought. "Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake, a grown-up, not a young girl who needs girl friends! Surely my husband and the family we'll start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!" But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her girl friends and made more each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, girl friends are the mainstays of her life. After 50 years of living in this world, here is what I know about girl friends:
Girl friends bring you casseroles and scrub your bathroom when you need help. Girl friends keep your children and keep your secrets.
Girl friends give advice when you ask for it. Sometimes you take it, sometimes you don't.
Girl friends don't always tell you that you're right, but they're usually honest.
Girl friends still love you, even when they don't agree with your choices.
Girl friends laugh with you, and you don't need canned jokes to start the laughter.
Girl friends pull you out of jams.
Girl frie nds help you get out of bad relationships.
Girl friends help you look for a new apartment, help you pack, and help you move.
Girl friends will give a party for your son or daughter when they get married or have a baby, in whichever order that comes!
Girl friends are there for you, in an instant and when the hard times come.
Girl friends will drive through blizzards, rainstorms, hail, heat, and gloom of night to get to you when your hour of need is desperate.
Girl friends listen when you lose a job or a friend.
Girl friends listen when your children break your heart.
Girl friends listen when your parents' minds and bodies fail.
Girl friends cry with you when someone you loved dies.
Girl friends support you when the men in your life let you down.
Girl friends help you pick up the pieces when men pack up and go.
Girl friends rejoice at what makes you happy, and are ready to go out and kill what makes you unhappy. Times passes. Life happens. Distance separates. Children grow up. Love waxes and wanes. Hearts break. Careers end. Jobs come and go. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Men don't call when they say they will.
But girl friends are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.
A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley, and you have to walk it for yourself, your girl friends will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out.
My daughter, sister, mother, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends bless my life! The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still. Treasure your girl friends...
Pass this on to the women who are all the above to you. Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting a new world is born.

TUARAN DISTRICT,St.John Parish...My latest musings and comeback.........

Hello peeps,my pals,students,.....

I am so sorry that i have shyed away from blogging since last year, man, my 2nd year in UMS is like H***! so busy, with so many labs, taking up every week up 2 3 hours in one session, plus so many lab reports to be done, finding lecturers that will cost me 1/2-1 hour to wait at times.....even to the point bcos i kinda patriotic, that I went campaigning for the election of Majlis PErwakilan Pelajar UMS to represent all the students of UMS to uphold our rights to gain access the best of our study time in UMS,but I lost. But yeah,i did remember my big bro told me that if i ought to stay at my university residential,i gotta get my butt on all the activities at my residential itself,so yeah, i pulled my supporters(2 of them, thank you,mei ling and anne for your untiring support for me!anne is in my friends network)and myself and also one candidate for the higher posts for the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar to support one of my friend from Matriculaton Labuan to help the person in our university residential of any kinds of works.

Good news to annouce for us who work for my matriculation friend,WE GOT TO STAY FOR THE THIRD YEAR INSIDE THE CAMPUS,PRAISE GOD,ALLELUIA!!! Haha, about Tuaran.....yup,it was on the 22nd of April 2006,me, my friend,Carol,Jolene and Ivy went to Tuaran cos Carol is from the district,so we had Tuaran mee....on that evening right after we touched down in Tuaran,it only costs Rm3.50,man dirt cheap than KK,sampai RM5 ba!There;s an old shop we had our tea time, that does not charge the tea, even though u even ask for ice.....the tea is free, and you can obtain the tea from a classical Chinese teapot, free flow(ie:you can even order again if the teapot is finished!),my oh my,a culture shock for me, who is a KKian!we went to the pagoda near the township, took pictures, even went to RM2 shops to buy for our loved ones back home....then we went to St.John Church Tuaran.I was surprised when we stepped in2 the church:How come NO ONE....yeah,NO ONE was there yet...and Carol said that the trend in that town,is 10 minutes b4 the Mass starts at 6pm(that time we arrived at 5.30pm).so 4 of us who are catholics, just pause wherever we can,to pray to God to be blessed with his Ray of Mercy as we had arrived safely there. Then,we proceeded to go to Tenghilan,15 minutes away from Tuaran to attend Bahasa Malaysia/Kadazandusun Mass also at 6pm,but very few people eventhough the celebrant was a priest cos there were no transport that time,so the people got2go on sundays, where a cathecist will celebrate the mass.we slept at carol's home, enjoying karaoking and eating potato chips while watching the incredibles, haha!

saying thank you to our creator/God

I dreamed that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.>> Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed. "How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked. "So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments."How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked. "Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, 'Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked."If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roofoverhead and a place to sleep .. you are richer than 75% of this world. "If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. "And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in theworld who has that opportunity." Also "If you woke up this morning with more health than illness. you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.""If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ..you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.""If you can attend a meeting of your religion without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death ... you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world."If your parents are still alive and still married You are very rare. If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you are unique to all those in doubt and despair."

Ok, what now? How can I start? If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed thanover two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are"Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for > giving me so many wonderful people to share it with."
